Silly Eater

I take a lot of pictures of Olivia in her highchair.  Mostly because that is the only time I can get her to sit still long enough to take her photo.

She loves to eat and she is such a great eater.  She loves all food (except bananas....Mommy's girl)

Here is a snippet of the hilarity of our daughter.

Birthday Celebration

Yesterday, I turned 33 years old.  Such a nothing birthday.  Although, I am going to try to make it something.  I do not really do New Year's resolutions, so maybe I will try to make some yearly goals, starting on my birthday?

In my 33rd year, I hope to:
Study the bible more effectively, regularly and with an open heart
Worry less
Enjoy the little things
Live in the moment
Keep social media to a bare minimum
Read more books
Exercise with regularity and tenacity
Reach out to others more

These are all little things, that I should already be doing.  I hope that perhaps I will actually stick to it.

With that said, I had a lovely birthday yesterday, spent with the people I love most in this world.

Karen had me and the kids over for lunch.  Aside from family, there is no one I would rather spend the day with than one of my best friends.  I got a sweet singing birthday call from my other bestie, Tiffany.  I love my friends.  I hope that I can always make them feel as special as they make me feel.

After lunch, I went and bought myself a little gifty gift with my birthday money.  I am finding more and more that I do carry purses again, not just diaper bags.  My current Coach bag is too small to carry all of my necessities, so I needed something a little bigger.  Everyone carries a Michael Kors bag, so I wanted something a little different.  I decided on Kate Spade.  Classic.  Chic.  I originally wanted a "safe" color, but when I saw this bright little number, I could not resist.  After birthday money, I was only out $30.  Not bad!

Steve came home a little early so that we could go to dinner earlier.  He made reservations at the California Grill, which is on the top of the Contemporary Resort, Will's favorite place in the world.  We had not eaten there since they re-did it a few years ago.  It did not disappoint.

Waiting for our table

My sweet boy was so excited

I love him so very much

A sushi appetizer.  A triumph!

My dinner, halibut with all sorts of delicious accompaniments.  Was almost too pretty to eat

Steve's seafood jambalaya that he claimed "had too much lobster"
Both kids were amazing at dinner.  Such good manners.  Such good eaters.

I would be remiss if I didn't record "the accident".  Olivia was getting a little rambunctious toward the end of the meal, so Steve suggested I take her for a little walk.  I had teased Steve earlier that he had forgotten to put bloomers on Olivia when he got her dressed.  As I walked her near the bathrooms, her diaper fell off onto the floor.  Luckily, it was not a dirty diaper.  I carried her into the bathroom where I did not see a changing table.  I was putting her diaper back on while other women were reapplying lipstick and looking at me funny.  Oh, I was so mad at Steve for not putting bloomers on or securing her diaper properly.  Men!

It was all a ploy to get me out of my seat as dessert was waiting for me upon our return.  I could not stay bewildered with bites of creamy creme brulee.

After dinner, we explore the resort a little bit.  The kids had fun doing that.  We took a Monorail ride, which was a terrible idea because Olivia had hit her wall and squirmed and cried the whole time.

Overall, a wonderful birthday with memories I will always cherish.  I love my family more than I can possibly express.  I cannot believe how bless I am.  I want to hold on to every moment and soak it in. I am going to try.  I am going to try to blog more.  At least, I will be able to record my thoughts and feelings and photos better when I do.

We'll see how I do.
