Happy 6th Birthday, Will!!!!

Will.

My bug.

My booga bear.

My heart.

He's 6.

I can hardly believe it.  Seems like yesterday he was belly laughing about denim and crawling all over the house.  Now, he is such a big boy.  I could write a novel about him.  His kind heart.  His love of others.  He is the sweetest, funniest, kindest boy I know.  He is smart and he is good.  I know he will be an amazing man one day.  It is my honor to have a hand in shaping in, in guiding him.

I pray for him all the time.  For his safety.  For his health.  I pray more than anything that no disease or accident happens; that he will live to be a man and a father one day.  I pray for his future wife.  That she is being raised by Godly parents and that their marrige will be blessed.

I pray that he will accept Christ into his heart soon.  I do not want to rush it as I rushed my own salvation and accepted before I really understood.  I want him to know Jesus and have a relationship with him.  What a blessing he is to us.

I love my William.  So much that it hurts.  May he be blessed with dozens more birthdays.

We blew up about 100 balloons after the kids went to bed so that Will would wake up to this.

True friends spend an hour blowing up balloons.

He was very excited

We couldn't bring a cake with us, so I had to bake one.  Will is patiently waiting.

He got a fish hook for his birthday

Olivia ready to go out

Will, fishing

It didn't work.  We needed better bait

Casting a net to catch minnows

Trouble is, he fell in love with the minnows (named one of them) and could not bring himself to kill them.  Even releasing them made him break down sobbing.

Spring Break - North Captiva! - Arrival

It is that time again.  Another beach vacay with our best friends, the Floods.  This time, we chose North Captiva Island as our destination.  It was a slightly stressful arrival.  First, I had some lunatic verbally accost me in the McDonald's parking lot because my car door gently rested on his luxury vehicle.  The man was insane and I thought he was going to pull a gun on me.

Anyway, we survived that and then we had to load everything onto the ferry boat.  We had to pre-order our groceries from Publix and have them "boat packaged".  The ferry ride was about 30 minutes long.  I was sure one of the teenagers was going to puke.

But we made it.

The house is awesome.  Right on the beach.  Apparently, our house is right on a cove known for dolphin sightings.  As we sit on our wrap-around porch, we are able to watch dolphins AT ALL TIMES.  I love the memories we are creating for our children.  I pray they remember these sweet times with friends and that it will impact their childhood.

They were excited that there were coconuts on the beach

The best of friends

I had several books I wanted to read over vacation.  Doesn't this look divine?  Where my only care is whether to read a book or take a nap.  Sigh.  That's the life.

Right near that dock is where dolphins just hang out.  All the time.  People would bring their golf carts over to watch them, but we were able to watch from the porch

And of course, after the kids go to bed at night, we get to play board games.  It is always intense.  Always.

Family Visits

Uncle David came to visit March 8-15.  Kevin and Glenda came to visit March 13-17.  It made for lots of fun family time and good memories.

We went to California Grille to celebrate Will's birthday a little early.  But also, we thought Uncle David would like it.  It was really cold on top of the Contemporary.

On Tuesday, we met up with Kevin and Glenda after baseball practice.  It just so happened it was really rainy.

A trip to Magic Kingdom with the whole family

Had to get Dole Whips

Of course, we love the Monorail

Even Uncle David loved the Dole Whip

Windermere Little League- Opening Ceremonies

Will is officially in Little League.  I have waited for this for years.  Today was Opening Ceremonies.  We were not sure if we were going to make it.  Will had a fever yesterday.  He therefore, was disinvited to Jaxson's birthday party.  This made me so sad for him.  His whole class is going to be there.  He missed Jonathan's birthday party last month for the same reason.  I am afraid he is going to get a reputation for not attending birthday parties.

Backstory: Ellen is in the hospital with an infection.  Went to go visit her with Olivia.  That was stressful enough.  And, I think I messed up by going into her "clean" room.  Ugh.  So upset about that.  When getting into my car, I get a call from the school nurse that Will threw up at school.  Ok. Rush down there.  When I arrived, the nurse said he had not thrown up in front of her.  When I asked him, he said it happened in class, at Ms Shields desk.  Oh, so you threw up on Ms Shields?  No, he went into the bathroom.  Ok, so you threw up in the bathroom?  Was it in the toilet?  No, it was in my mouth.  Long story short, he never threw up.  He likely had acid reflux.  But because I picked him up from school because he was sick, I could not bring him to a birthday party the next day when the whole class thought he was "sick"

He did get a fever later that night.  Low grade.

We debated but decided it was likely PFAPA and we went ahead and did the opening ceremonies.  We had a lot of fun, so it made up for the fact that he missed the party.  I am so excited to get him into Little League.  I can barely wait to see him play in game.
